A woman's pride

A woman’s pride

With dark minds come dark lies

Plastic smiles and deafening cries

Like vigorous roaring, old men snoring

Kitchen arguments and kitchen knives

With dark lies come deafening cries

Like powerful paintings hidden in files

Like her locked jaw of filtered thoughts and him taking away her pride

She’s heard of guys like you her entire life

That takes away pride with kitchen knives

That formulates a collection of deafening cries

From women just trying to survive

Then came a night and one dark mind

With that a woman, minimal pride

One dark lie a deafening cry

A kitchen knife
