Absence

I wish i could pull my heart out of my throat and present to you

the damage and catastrophe of lost battles iv'e fought

Lost battles you'll never know about

i thought about you yesterday

i thought about you in silence

i think about you through forgiven tears

Tears that roll down my face

pour down my chest and sink into the pours of my skin

and break through my ribs to try and clean the open wounds

that perimeter my heart

When absence affects lives the importance of presence should be learnt

You see, sometimes memories

sneak out eyes and roll down my cheek

but when your name is mentioned

the world stands still.

The loneliest moment in someones life

is when their whole world is tearing apart

and the only thing you can do is stand there

and fucking stare.
